Phelps vs Curt

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps takes on bloody-sock-wearer Curt Schilling.

round-2-match-122

Michael Phelps:

  • Competed in the 2000 Olympic Games at the age of 15
  • Currently holds 7 World records (including 4 individual records)
  • Has been the American Swimmer of the Year every year since 2001
  • 5 time World Swimmer of the Year
  • Won 8 gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (most gold medals by any athlete in a single Olympic games ever)
  • Set 7 World Records at the Beijing Games
  • Medaled in 48 out of 51 international events (94%)
  • Smoked marijuana and is still the best swimmer in the world

Curt Schilling:

  • 6 time MLB all-star
  • 3 time World Series champion, co-MVP in 2001 with Randy Johnson
  • Is one of 16 members of the 3,000 strikeout club
  • One of the best playoff pitchers in history with a record of 11-2 and a 2.23 ERA
  • Best strikeout to walk ratio of all time
  • Holds the major league record for most consecutive games without allowing an unearned run (69 games)
  • Has a surgery named after him: Schilling Tendon Procedure
  • Born in Anchorage and his middle name is Montague

Even with the recent suspension and tabloid destraction, I am going with Phelps on this one.  Schilling was good, but he didn’t dominate his sport like Phelps does.
