Water vs Fire

Michael Phelps takes on Trevor Hoffman in the final matchup of the 3rd bracket

match24

Michael:

  • Has 16 total medals from 2 Olympic competitions
  • Won 8 gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (most gold medals in a single Olympic games ever)
  • Has been the American Swimmer of the Year every year since 2001
  • Currently holds 7 World records (including 4 individual records)
  • Competed in the Olympics at the age of 15

Trevor:

  • Only player in MLB history with 500 career saves
  • Has an 89.53 career save percentage (522 out of 583), best ever
  • Selected to the all-star team 6 times
  • 2 time National League leader in saves (1998, 2006)
  • Posesses arguably the best changeup in the game today and was well known for his ‘fireball’

Gotta give it to Phelps. No doubt about it.  Hoffman may be the best closer ever, but doesnt come anywhere close to matching Phelps’ athletic ability.  Bracket below.

About shasaw

My wonderful abilities to write have caused Chris to offer me a contract worth $4.8 million to write for We Got The Goodz. I reluctantly accepted the offer since I know that my skills are worth much more than that. Anyway, here is some stuff about me. Interests: Baseball (D-Backs), Hockey (Sabres), Football (Bills), also playing pool, darts and poker Music: Mostly country, although I'm a big fan of the Kings of Leon. The Foo Fighters, John Mayer, Jason Mraz and the Eagles are good too. Movies: Slap Shot, Happy Gilmore, Braveheart, I Am Legend, Starsky and Hutch, Blues Brothers, Taxi and National Treasure. Books: Kurt Vonnegut is an author I don't mind, so any books he wrote.
