LT vs CP3 (the female version)

match211

Hmm, tough one.

LaDainian Tomlinson:

  • He went to Texas Christian University. In his sophomore season, he led the Horned Frogs to their first bowl win in 41 yrs. The next year he set a record with 406 yards in one game. Then his senior year he led the nation in rushing and came in 4th in the Heisman voting.
  • In the ’01 draft, San Diego had the number 1 pick. They traded picks with Atlanta, however. The Falcons picked Vick #1 and San Diego got LT at the #5 spot. Bet the Falcons are enjoying that one.
  • Ran for 1,200+ rushing yards and caught 50+ passes in each of his first seven years in the league. Won MVP in ’06 (1815 rushing yards, 28 TDs)
  • Holds multiple records: Most TDs in a season (31), most points scored in a season (186), most consecutive games with a rushing TD (18), most consecutive multi-TD games (8)
  • Wife’s name is LaTorsha

Candace Parker

  • In high school she led her basketball team to state titles in ’03 and ’04. Was named USA Today Player of the Year twice (only player to do so). Won the Slam-Dunk contest at the McDonald’s All-American game
  • Led her Lady Vols to back-to-back NCAA Championships in ’07 and ’08. Had a career record of 101-10. Also became the fastest Lady Vol to score 1000 points (56 games)
  • Won gold at Beijing in 2008 with Team USA. Won bronze at the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women(only college player on team). And in ’04 she led the USA Junior World team to a gold.
  • She was drafted first overall by the WNBA’s LA Sparks. In her first year in the league she won Rookie of the Year and MVP. She was the first WNBAer to do so.
  • She became the first person to dunk in the Women’s NCAA Tournament. Also became the second WNBAer to dunk in a game (teammate Lisa Leslie is the other).

Although Candace Parker may be the greatest female b-baller of all-time, I gotta give this one to LT. Sorry CP3. You know I love you.
