After hours of travel, the Goodz’ have arrived at Boothbay Harbor, ME. We split the drive up into two sessions of about 5 or 6 hrs each. On Sunday night we stopped at a Ramada Inn in Pittsfield, MA. We had some dinner and watched the roast of Bob Saget on Comedy Central. Funny stuff.
Since the car ride was long, I stacked up my IPod with this week’s “Billboard Hot 100.” The first 30 or so were good, and then after that it was a very steep downhill fall. The fact that I strongly despise country songs didn’t help much. I also watched the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. It was a great movie, but I don’t suggest it if you haven’t seen the first two. A lot of stuff going on.
We also made a pit stop in Kennebunkport, ME. For those of you who don’t know, Barbara and George Bush own a summer home in this city. It was a nice little town, but we didn;t even see the house, so it was kind of pointless. (Plus, they charged me $7 for a turkey sandwich and a pickle. $7!!!!)
After Kennebunkport we drove for about 90 minutes and made it to our hotel. We are staying at the Ocean Gate Inn. It is a very nice hotel. There’s a pool, a ping pong table, a mini golf course, tennis courts, and much more. After checking in and laying down for a while, we went for a swim. It was very relaxing. After that we came back to the room, changed, and then went to dinner.
We ate at McSeagulls. I had the Haddock and chips, DGoodz had some chicken quesadillas, and everyone in my family shared some fried chicken and dill pickle skewers. Everything was delicious. After we ate we went walking around town. It was late so not everything was open, but there were some cool shops along the way. After all the shopping, we went to Wannawaf’s for some ice cream. It was a fun night. Now I am in bed typing this for all of you to read. I will try to get you something else tomorrow night. Peace out.
